Medicine (MBBS)
At a glance
What a student from Maharashtra needs to know before choosing this degree — clearly and honestly.
What you study
A full MBBS-equivalent medical degree (often 6 years incl. internship), taught in English in several affordable destinations.
Why students choose it
Tuition abroad can be far lower than private Indian seats — but to practise in India you must clear the FMGE (or the NExT, once it replaces the FMGE), and that is the real test.
Who it suits
Students with a qualifying NEET score (the NEET result serves as the Eligibility Certificate) who want an affordable MBBS abroad and are prepared for rigorous licensing exams on return.

Careers & salaries
Where this degree leads, and an honest note on the outlook — earnings vary widely by destination, role and the economy.
An MBBS abroad is only the first step — to practise in India you must meet NMC rules and clear the FMGE (or the NExT, once it replaces the FMGE).
Affordability is real, but so are the risks. Verify the specific institution and programme against current NMC rules before enrolling, and check FMGE pass rates honestly.
NMC/FMGL 2021 rules. Indian students must meet NMC/FMGL 2021 requirements: a qualifying NEET score (the NEET result serves as the Eligibility Certificate); the prescribed course and clinical-training duration; a 12-month internship at the same institution that awards the degree; instruction in English; and eligibility for registration or licensure in the country that awards the degree. A WDOMS listing is not NMC approval. To practise in India you must clear the FMGE (or the NExT, once it replaces the FMGE). Verify the specific institution and programme against current NMC rules before enrolling.
Licensing & registration. Completing the degree does not automatically guarantee professional registration. Licensing requirements differ by country and profession — for example the relevant medical, nursing, pharmacy, legal or psychology council — and often include a licensing examination and a language test. In India, registration is with the relevant council (for example the NMC, Indian Nursing Council, Pharmacy Council of India or Bar Council of India).
