Visa & permit fees
A long-stay Type D visa costs €52, according to the current consular fee schedule of the Embassy of Serbia in New Delhi. A temporary-residence application costs RSD 430 to submit, plus RSD 23,450 on approval, per the current Welcome to Serbia fee schedule.
Work while studying
If you hold regulated temporary residence on the basis of studies, you can work without a separate single residence-and-work permit, within the statutory student-work limit. Under the Law on Employment of Foreigners, work during teaching periods must not exceed 20 hours a week or 80 hours a month.
Family & dependants
Eligible family members (a spouse or common-law partner and qualifying children) can apply for temporary residence for family reunification with a foreign national who already holds temporary or permanent residence in Serbia. If the sponsor’s residence is on a basis other than employment, the requirements include proof of relationship, sufficient means, health insurance and accommodation.
Proof of funds
For entry to Serbia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs treats €50 per day of stay as sufficient financial means (cash or bank statement). A study temporary-residence application also requires proof of subsistence for the intended period. This is a legal financial requirement, not an estimate of actual student spending.
